Joanna Pfluger of Rainbow Tennis brings a wealth of experience, energy and enthusiasm to SRA!

Joanna grew up in Poland where she started playing tennis at age 7 and was a junior professional by age 14. She was #1 in Poland for ages 10, 12, and 14. Joanna grew to be ranked #3 in Europe and #133 in the world. She moved to America at age 14 where she competed in the Junior U.S. Open twice and won 3rd place for the U.S. Grass Championship. She was sponsored to play at Hardscrabble Tennis Academy in NY, and later attended the Kent School in Connecticut.

She played the #1 spot at The University of Richmond while earning a degree in psychology. After graduation she coached at Salisbury Country Club until she and her husband Glenn welcomed two sons, Q and Jasiu. Joanna stayed home with the boys when they were young but more recently launched her coaching business, Rainbow Tennis.

She is delighted to work with SRA! She loves teaching all levels and ages. Joanna offers private, semi private, and group sessions (clinics up to 8 people). She will offer club events throughout the year so all members will have the opportunity to meet her and try out tennis. She is committed to trying to build the best programs for kids and adults at SRA!

Kandyce Baker has worked across the nation as a licensed early childhood educator and tennis professional since 2013.

She was an All-Conference player for Emory and Henry College with a bachelor’s in Literature and Psychology and received her Masters in Teaching at James Madison University. After 2022, she made a full time commitment on the tennis court as a PTR certified coach.

Her current role as Junior Tennis Director and Pro at SRA is to conduct clinics and private lessons for beginner/intermediate youth and adults, host day camps, and build JTT teams for future tennis related events.

Aside from tennis, her main interests are writing, comedy, cooking, running, and spending time with her family in Nelson County as a fifth generation native.
